                              AsiaSat formally established in Hong Kong as Asia’s first privately-owned regional satellite operator 
                              A special shuttle mission retrieved the unused satellite Westar VI, later refurbished and renamed AsiaSat 1
                              AsiaSat 1 under refurbishment at Hughes’ manufacturing facilities in the US
                              The Mission Control Centre in Xichang, China - Countdown to AsiaSat 1 launch!
                              AsiaSat 1, Asia’s first private regional satellite successfully launched on 7 Apr 1990
                              All guests applauded and cheered as AsiaSat 1 successfully lifted off

                              Expanding Capacity and Capability in Space and on the Ground
                              AsiaSat team on a charter flight to AsiaSat 3S launch in Baikonur, Kazakhstan
                              AsiaSat 3S, AsiaSat 1’s replacement launched on 21 Mar 1999, operated at 105.5°E, Asia’s most watched orbital slot
                              Received an EFTNS Licence from OFTA in Jan to provide uplinking services for TV broadcast, telecom and broadband services. Expanded ground service capability has contributed to Hong Kong’s development as Asia’s telecom hub
                              Forged major satellite connectivity agreement with Telstra to deliver first ‘broadband via satellite’ consumer service to rural and remote homes across Australia via AsiaSat 3S Ku-band
                              AsiaSat 4, one of the largest satellites AsiaSat ever built, carried C, Ku FSS and BSS payloads to expand service in Asia at 122°E
                              Guests witnessed the AsiaSat 4 launch at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station space launch complex in Florida, US on 11 Apr 2003
                              In 2003, AsiaSat pioneered IFC service in Asia through an agreement with Connexion by Boeing to provide AsiaSat 3S Ku-band capacity for in-flight broadband services on the Asia to Europe flight corridor commencing Q1 2004
                              AsiaSat Tai Po Earth Station in Hong Kong in full operation since Jan 2004
                              In May 2004, AsiaSat received the Fixed Carrier Licence from OFTA to further expand value added services to customers
                              CITICSat became the exclusive reseller of AsiaSat capacity in Mainland China to provide localised technical support and customer services following an agreement signed on 28 Nov 2008

                              Forging Ahead, Leading Innovations for a Better Future
                              AsiaSat 5, AsiaSat 2’s replacement, launched on 12 Aug 2009. At 100.5°E, it broadcasted AsiaSat’s first HD channel LUXE TV in Asia
                              AsiaSat 7, AsiaSat 3S’s replacement, launched on 26 Nov 2011, further expanded 105.5°E’s capability in TV and aviation services
                              In Jun/Jul, AsiaSat delivered the first ever UHD live coverage for FIFA Brazil World Cup in Asia via AsiaSat 5
                              AsiaSat 8 launched on 5 Aug 2014, an all Ku-band satellite equipped with Asia’s most powerful 210-watt TWTAs
                              AsiaSat 6 launched on 7 Sep 2014, operates at 120°E, a new slot dedicated to pay TV broadcasting for China market
                              Received AsiaSat’s first US patent on “Methods and Systems for Providing High-speed Connectivity to Aircraft”
                              A permit received in Jan to provide video services in Mainland China via AsiaSat 6, marking AsiaSat’s re-entry into the video services market in China
                              AsiaSat 9 launched on 29 Sep 2017, a replacement satellite for AsiaSat 4 at 122°E offering greater power, wider coverage and higher efficiency
                              Received AsiaSat’s second US patent on “Methods and Systems for Improving Spectrum Utilisation for Satellite Communications"
                              On 3 May 2019 received a new 15-year Unified Carrier Licence (UCL) from OFCA to further expand managed service, data centre, OTT platform services for broadcast and data customers
                              On 14 May 2019, received the third and fourth patent on “Methods & Systems for Operating a HTS” and “Dual-band Communications Satellite System and Method” respectively
                              A new beginning with the Tai Po office opening in Sep
